The Emerging Scholars Initiative Press (ESI Press), established in October 2020, was created to foster a comprehensive learning environment for young academics at the University of Pretoria. Situated within the Faculty of Humanities, ESI Press generates open-access resources that educate and engage readers across different academic disciplines.

ESI Press’s model engages graduates from diverse programs offered at the University of Pretoria. The Press offers these students an opportunity to refine their academic skills by collaborating with and learning from publishing professionals and participating as authors in commissioned research projects spanning various disciplines.

ESI Press publishes a range of formats from journal articles to monographs to book-length manuscripts. The publications can be accessed free of charge and users can read several different titles, receive announcements and access relevant information about each publication.
